Bottaia Winery

BOTTAIA Winery is a chic, modern destination winery and tasting room in Temecula Wine Country, inspired by the luxury and refinement of Northern Italy. The Tasting Rooms are designed to enhance the appreciation of our wines, and to introduce you to them in a calm, elegant environment, away from the noisy crowds that have become commonplace in almost every wine country.

After farming the historic Brookside ranch in Temecula since 1985, and replanting the most suitable blocks to Italian varieties, the Ponte family developed a vision to build a winery to produce these unique wines, and introduce them to a discerning clientele. The Pontes have operated their namesake winery in Temecula for 20 years and researched the best Italian varieties for our soils and enology techniques for these wines. Then, armed with the knowledge, the grapes and well-aged wines, as well as 20 years of operating experience, they built a very special and different winery: BOTTAIA. The word "BOTTAIA" means cask-aging room in Italian.
The vineyard surrounding the winery was mature with 15 varietals of Italian grapes and the elevated winery faced the gently rolling rows of vines.
For the wine, they relish the old-world style, but embrace modern winemaking technology. The fermenters are made of concrete and oak for red wines and use steel tanks for blending and making white wines & rosés. Their winemakers select winemaking techniques to emulate those used in various regions of Italy for each specific variety. Each variety gets a different yeast, a different fermentation protocol, and a different aging and maturation treatment.
