World of Wine offers two days of “sipping in the rain” with barrel sampling, food and wine pairings, and hobnobbing with local winemakers
TEMECULA VALLEY, CA; (February 26, 2014)---This weekend, Southern Californians are bracing for an epic downpour -- but that’s no reason to hunker down indoors. This weekend, head to Temecula Valley and be WoWed by a World of Wine. Here’s why:
REASON #1: It’ll be raining outside, but cozy inside the wineries with plenty of wine to keep you warm.
REASON #2: Smaller crowds means more wine & food for you.
REASON #3: Ever smelled a vineyard in the rain? It’s magical.

REASON #5: The winemakers will all be in a great mood about finally getting rain into their water-starved vineyards; meaning, they’re that much more likely to pull out “something special” from the cellar to reward your perseverance.
Temecula Valley’s “World of Wine” Winter Barrel Tasting Weekend (WoW) happens this Saturday and Sunday, March 1 and 2 from 10am to 4:30pm. Attendees will enjoy wines inspired by the world’s greatest wine regions, along with food pairings, love music and facetime with local winemakers.
2-Day Tickets are just $99; Sunday-only tickets are $79. Price includes a souvenir glass and tasting at up to 35 participating wineries (moderate imbibing is encouraged -- especially in the rain). Online ticketing ends Friday at noon; tickets available at the door from 9:30am-1pm on both Saturday and Sunday at Callaway Winery.

Comprising more than 30 wineries and 60 winegrowers, the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association is a nonprofit regional organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the quality wines and wine grapes grown in the Temecula Valley and South Coast Appellations. Officially established in 1984, the Temecula AVA (American viticulture area) consists of 33,000 acres, of which approximately 1,300 acres are currently planted to commercial vineyards.
