Temecula Wine Country Announces California Wine Month Events, Packages & “Perfect Pairings”


This September, Temecula wineries entice visitors with a $50 Sip Passport, a “Perfect Pairings” Sweepstakes, and the return of the 3rd Annual CRUSH Wine & Culinary Showcase


TEMECULA, CA; (May 15, 2012) – Temecula Valley wineries are gearing up for California Wine Month this September with a slew of events and incentives to entice wine lovers to experience Southern California’s wine country. This year’s festivities will include the return of the 30-day Sip Passport, as well as the 3rd Annual CRUSH - Temecula Valley’s Wine & Culinary Showcase, taking place Saturday, September 15 at the newly-renovated Callaway Winery. A new addition to this year’s Wine Month celebration is Perfect Pairings, a friendly competition among Temecula wineries to create the “perfect” marriage of food and wine.


Perfect Pairings

  • September 1-15, participating Temecula Valley wineries will offer Sip Passport holders tastes of top wines paired with a “perfect bite”

  • Guests can vote for their favorite Perfect Pairings at Facebook.com/TemeculaWines by “Liking” the photo of their favorite item; voters will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of tickets to Temecula Valley’s annual Harvest Celebration weekend, November 3-4

  • Recipes for each Perfect Pairing will be posted to Facebook and the TVWA Blog


Sip Passport

  • Sip Passports are $50 per person and include vouchers for a full tasting flight at any five Temecula Valley wineries (TVWA member wineries only; see TemeculaWines.org)

  • Sip Passports valid September 1-30, so guests can visit all five wineries on the same day, or space it out over several visits

  • Passport holders will receive complimentary Perfect Pairing at participating wineries (through September 14)

  • Sip & Stay packages offer discounts on overnight accommodations at participating wine country hotels; packages will be listed on TemeculaWines.org beginning June 15


3rd Annual CRUSH - Temecula Valley’s Wine & Culinary Showcase

  • 6:30-9:30p on Saturday, September 15 at the newly-renovated Callaway Winery

  • Gala event bringing together all 35 member wineries and wine country cuisine from more than a dozen local chefs, farms and restaurants

  • All-inclusive tickets are $75 per person; early bird tickets are $65 now through August 15

  • VIP Tickets are $100 and include a pre-event VIP Reception, access to the Winemakers Roundtable seated tasting, and a gift bag including a Perfect Pairings recipe booklet

  • Callaway Winery will re-open this summer after a complete re-build of the Visitors Center and Tasting Room, including an expansion of the sleek and modern tasting floor and a new second story glass-enclosed terrace overlooking the rolling vineyards. The winery is the oldest in Temecula Valley, with vineyard plantings dating back to 1969.

Comprising 35 wineries and more than 60 wine growers, the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association is a nonprofit regional organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the quality wines and wine grapes grown in the Temecula Valley and South Coast Appellations.
