Temecula Valley's 19th Annual "World of Wine" Weekend Returns

 

Weekend-long barrel tasting invites wine lovers to Southern California's wine country to sample future releases, enjoy current bottlings, and savor delicious food pairings

LOS ANGELES; February 26, 2010 – For the 19th year running, Temecula Valley wineries are opening their cellar doors March 6th and 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the annual winter barrel tasting event known as World of Wine. This two-day event, hosted by the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association, offers passport holders a chance to visit 27 wineries along the Rancho California and De Portola wine roads. The $89 weekend ticket price includes wine tastings from both barrel and bottle, allowing guests to sample current releases as well as wines that are not yet available for purchase. In addition, fine food pairings are provided to ensure guests don't go away hungry or thirsty.

HOW:    Self-guide tour permits guests to taste at their own pace and select the wineries they choose to visit; winery map and souvenir tasting glass provided for each guests to keep

About the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association

Comprising nearly 30 wineries and 60 wine growers, the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association is a nonprofit regional organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the quality wines and wine grapes grown in the Temecula Valley and South Coast Appellations. Officially established in 1984, the Temecula AVA (American viticultural area) consists of 33,000 acres, of which approximately 1,300 acres are currently planted to commercial vineyards.
