Membership Information
Whether you own a winery or grow winegrapes in the Temecula Valley, your support as a member of the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association allows us as an organization to support your business. Membership also allows you the opportunity to participate in and benefit from the many programs we offer which include:
- Marketing programs that build awareness of the Temecula Valley as a quality winegrape growing region which assists in stimulating the demand for our wines and winegrapes.
- Promotional and partnership programs designed to attract tourism and generate traffic to our tasting rooms
- Extensive public and media relations support with a first-class agency
- Educational programs and seminars to help our members produce the best products and services possible.

Membership Benefits
The Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association offers substantial benefits to its members. Full Winery members receive a winery listing in the printed brochure, a full winery profile with link on our website, participation in all marketing and promotional programs and inclusion on media visits and FAM tours throughout the year. Full Grower members receive a listing in the Members Directory and on the website, which includes a listing of varietals grown, contact information and other viticultural data. All members receive access to AdCon weather stations and an online listing of fruit for sale.
Full Winery Member: owns an actively producing agricultural processing facility, used by the Member to crush, ferment and process grapes into wine at a minimum production level of 1000 (9) liter cases per year, 100% of which must come from grapes grown in the Temecula Valley AVA. Beyond the minimum requirements for use of Temecula grapes, at least 75% of the bottled wine sold from the premises, including internet and wine club sales, shall be produced from grapes grown within the County of Riverside, CA. The above facility to have a TTB Bonded Winery Basic Permit, a California ABC Winegrowers license, a Riverside County Winery Approved Plot Plan per Riverside County Zoning Ordinance 348.4574-C/V Zoning Classification Article XIvb-Section 14.71 and CV Zoning Classification Article XIvc-Section 14.81, and must be located within the Temecula Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA). A Winery Member is a voting member, and has all rights and obligations of full membership, including the obligation of adhering to Standards of Membership as may be instituted by a majority vote of the Voting Members. Winery Member dues are determined by a majority vote of the Voting Members. Any deviation from these conditions requires the approval of the Board of Directors in order to maintain membership in good standing.

Provisional Winery Member: a new Winery membership applicant, who is accepted as a member by a majority vote of the Voting Members, begins membership as a Provisional Winery Member. To qualify as a Winery Member, a Provisional Winery Member must crush and ferment grapes, 100% of which must come from the Temecula Valley AVA, to produce a minimum of 1000 nine (9) liter cases of wine on the premises no later than the second calendar year of membership. Beyond the minimum requirements for use of Temecula grapes, at least 75% of the bottled wine sold from the premises, including internet and wine club sales, shall be produced from grapes grown within the County of Riverside, CA. A Provisional Member must also demonstrate compliance with Standards of Membership as may be instituted by a majority vote of the Voting Members, and continue to comply with the other requirements of Winery membership. A Provisional Member must also avoid carrying on any unethical or fraudulent practice in the operation of the member’s winery business, deemed by the Board of Directors to be of sufficient seriousness to create negative impact upon the Association and its members. Upon failure to comply with any of the foregoing, membership may be terminated by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. In such instance that the Board of Directors does not terminate the membership of a Provisional Winery Member who fails to meet the above provisions, they will continue as a Provisional Member until such time as they take action to qualify as a Winery Member, or until the Board terminates membership. A Provisional Winery Member is ratified as a Winery Member upon a majority vote of the Board of Directors, and may not hold a position on the Board of Directors before that time. A Provisional Winery Member is a Voting Member, and has rights and obligations the same as those of a Winery Member, except for the specific stipulations of Provisional Membership.

Associate Winery Member: owns or leases a bonded wine cellar, or winery within the Temecula Valley AVA, or owns a winery located in Southern California, South of Ventura and Kern Counties, that otherwise does not qualify for Winery Membership. An Associate Winery Member is not a voting Member and does not have the rights and obligations of full Membership, but does have the obligation of adhering Standards of membership as may be instituted by a majority of the voting members. Associate Winery Members are limited to participation in general membership meetings, and technical committee meetings and seminars only, unless determined otherwise by the Board of Directors on an individual case or event basis. Dues are determined by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.

Grower Member: owns or leases a minimum of 3.75 planted acres of wine grapes located within the Temecula Valley AVA. A Grower Member is a Voting Member, and has all the rights and obligations of full membership, including the obligation of adhering to Standards of Membership as may be instituted by a majority of the voting members. Lease terms are ratified upon a majority vote by the Board of Directors. Growers Member dues are determined by a majority vote of the Voting Members. No individual or business entity shall hold more than one grower membership.

Associate Grower Member: owns less than 3.75 planted acres of wine grapes located within the Temecula Valley AVA or owns a vineyard located in Southern California, south of Ventura and Kern Counties, that otherwise does not qualify for Grower Membership. Associate Grower Member is not a Voting Member, and does not have the rights or obligations of full membership, but does have the obligation of adhering to Standards of Membership as may be instituted by a majority of the voting members. Associate Grower members are limited to participation in general membership meetings, and technical committee meetings and seminars only, unless determined otherwise by the Board of Directors on an individual case or event basis. Dues are determined by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.

Affiliate Member: a business or individual not covered in the preceding categories, which wish to support the Association. Affiliate Members are not voting Members. Affiliate Members may attend Association social events. They may also attend technical meetings and seminars as determined by the Board of Directors on an individual case or event basis. Dues are determined by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.
