January Winery Events in Temecula Valley Wine Country

First of all, we’d love to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year! Can you believe it’s already 2012? We thank you so much for your support over the years and look forward to creating the best wine tasting experiences for you in this new year.

Speaking of wine- here are some of the events happening in Temecula Valley Wine Country in January. We hope you’ll join us!

 

Bel Vino Winery (formerly Stuart Cellars)

Every Saturday – 12pm-5pm

Callaway Vineyard & Winery

January 22- 10am-12:30pm

A Taste of Winter Seminar: Learn about the winemaking process from the winemaker himself. In winter, the vines are pruned for their winter nap. Craig will talk about why pruning is good for the vine, how pruning is done and what is considered before each snip. This instruction will be followed by a relaxed discussion in the Chardonnay Room where topics like how to serve and store wines will be addressed. Various bottles will be viewed and you will learn what bottle shapes and sizes can tell you about the wine that’s in them. We finish this seminar with a delightful tasting of our ruby port and dessert wines, paired with dessert, of

Europa Village:

Inn at Europa Village Culinary Workshop – Soups ON!: Enjoy sipping on Europa Village wine while you learn and taste three styles of soup preparation, then bring the recipes home to create your own. $85 per person.
January 17- 6:00pm-7:30pm -

Europa Village Cave Sommelier Workshop –  Introduction to wine tasting: Learn a few precious tips that will help you have more fun and more confidence while tasting wine. (the ideal conditions for tasting; the serving temperature; progression of the tasting; reading the label I; the 5 “s”) $49 per person.

Jingle & Mingle Holiday Party: Join Bel Vino in the Barrel Room for an evening of holiday cheer with family and friends. Meet & mingle with the new winery owners as they share their visions for the coming year. Enjoy live entertainment and special holiday promotions. Includes tray passed hors

Candlelight Concert: Celebrate the most festive time of the year with a joyful holiday Candlelight Concert with the magnificent violinist, David Wilson. The spirit of the season will fill the air as this romantic concert under the stars kicks off your holidays. The evening will also include a horse

Rainbows to Wishes Concert Tour, Featuring the 4019′s, THE BASH with special guest Nina Markert: Sophie Lawler, age 4, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ewing Sarcoma. To ensure she receives the best of treatment, her parents have been by her side constantly. Although privately insured, funds being raised are being used to offset medial, travel and general expenses to give her the best outcome possible for a long life. Luck in the New Year’s Cooking Class: Join us as we celebrate winter’s wonderful bounty and delight. Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and then some) – A Holiday Play: Written by Michael Carleton, John Alvarez and Jim Fitzgerald, three actors decide that rather than perform “A Christmas Carol” once again, they’ll retell Every OTHER Christmas Story Ever Told where they take holiday cheer to the extreme with a fast and furious look at the holiday classics and traditions we all remember. From Tiny Tim, Frosty and Rudolph to the Grinch and It’s A Wonderful Life, no holiday icon is spared in this whirlwind tour de farce of hilarious holiday merriment. Doors open at 6:00. Austen Tea, Tapas, & Wine: Jane Austen comes to Callaway Winery! In celebration of Jane Austen’s birthday, Christmas, the 200th Anniversary of Pride & Prejudice and the kick off of the opening of The Classical Theater Series Season 2012, Inland Valley Conservatory is pleased to announce the “Regency Period Tea,” We begin at 11:00am with an exhibition by Mission Hills Croquet Club. You can learn to play if you like and watch their top level player demonstrate his amazing tricks. This is not your backyard game folks! Our delightful hosts, Callaway Winery are serving up a Regency inspired menu, paired with their award winning wines. Special Guest Speaker, Doctor Laura Brodian Freas, founder of the Regency Society in San Francisco Bay Area will provide a lecture and rousing session of Regency Ballroom Dance in the beautiful Barrel Room. Dancers of all levels are welcome. There will also be a reproduction of Jane Austen’s Regency clothing as illustrated in the Friendship Book/Album of James Stanier Clarke on display. Shhhh! Unconfirmed rumors suggest that Jane Austen herself may be among the many guests in attendance! Following this event there is a special matinee of “Every Christmas Story Ever Told” at 3:00pm. Performance by Shakespeare In the Vines. Tickets are available at SITV.org for the matinee.

Forever Plaid – Plaid Tidings: Plaid Tidings…the sequel to Forever Plaid…brings back the 4 Plaids with a new mission of spreading holiday joy through song styling of Perry Como and other great crooners of the late 1950′s. Illusions and Laughter in Temecula Wine Country – A Fundraiser for “Friends of Jim Herrman”: Jim was in a dirt motorcycle accident in August and broke his neck and back and has suffered very serious debilitating injuries. His left leg is totally paralyzed and he has no feeling from his belly button to either toe. Comedy and Magic Night will raise money to help fund house modifications. One of their needs is a concrete pad in the parking area so Jim can get in and out of his vehicle and transfer via a wheelchair to the front door.
